This home was building in 1936 as a fishing
cabin, located at the edge of Beverly Lake. Fire devastated this home beyond
repair and had to be completely razed and rebuilt. Because this home was
located within 100 feet of the water the existing foundation had to be
redesigned to meet current building codes as required by Anne Arundel County.
We worked with the home owner and engineers to provide a complete redesign
including helix pile foundation piers, grade beam concrete footings, and
masonry foundation walls.
The original house had a deep basement, however
due to current codes and the ground water level requirements the basement could
not be rebuilt. The main level had to be built over a crawl space and the home
owner elected to add a second level with a large side deck and a rear deck.
